Hi everyone! I'm currently helping to start a permablitz group in Cincinnati, OH. Our goals are to build community, food sovereignty, ecological and economic resilience, and political capacity through the focused establishment of food forests and permaculture gardens.
In searching for a name for our organization, I was drawn to Food Not Lawns because of its obvious parallel to Food Not Bombs. The FNB model distributes free food as political protest to war and the global capitalist food system.
I would like to emulate their model where possible, using permaculture as a tool for radical change and political empowerment of oppressed peoples. I was wondering if anyone else has similar goals here, and if Food Not Lawns as a broader organization supports this kind of mutual aid organizing.
