Colonial farmhouse in Brazil for sale, 500 acres, lots of water!

Fazenda Jacob is a sixth-generation family farm for sale in southeast Brazil in a town called Barbacena-MG, which is considered a logistical hub as it is connected to main highways linking major cities like Rio de Janeiro, Belo Horizonte and São Paulo. The farm has over 200 years of tradition and work dedicated to food production and is now entering a new trajectory in which 3 acres of the land have been converted to a certified organic-agroforestry system where production, research and education takes place. In order to scale up the impact, the family is looking to sell a large portion of its 500 acres of land to people interested and capable of helping transition it to regenerative systems.

The farm has structure and potential to adopt integrated agricultural processes that harvest nutrient-dense, organic food while maintaining 30% of the land as protected native forest. The farm is suitable for people interested in agritourism, bed and breakfast, agro-industrial activities, wedding and educational events, horse farm, corporate accommodation or just a loving couple with a passion for cultivating the land.

Ground floor: 9 rooms. Hall, foreman's room, male slave quarters, female slave quarters, deposits and laundry. Annex new house.

Second Floor: 17 rooms. Living rooms, alcoves, 9 bedrooms, bathrooms, pantry and kitchen.

All legal documentation, land surveying, and permits in place.

2 springwater resurgences on the land and available for use.

A little bit about me:
As a global citizen, I spent the last 10 years making my passion for and commitment to a safer, cleaner and more sustainable world a reality, both in my work and in my daily life. Today I Live in Boulder-CO and manage projects for a design company in the sustainable greenhouse industry. I am an Environmental and Sanitary Engineer and certified Permaculture Design practitioner.

I own part of the land adjacent to my family land which I have been transitioning to regenerative systems since 2020. I am looking for a value added partner (and neighbor!) that could purchase the land from my family and co-develop it with me in order to create a hub for education and transformation for the local farming community through regenerative agriculture techniques, permaculture design, engagement opportunities, nutrition education, and healthy food systems.

Happy to connect with you, ask any questions you may have and explain a bit more about my vision for this amazing place!

With Earth gratitude,
Guilherme
