Hello everyone. I am seeking a new steward for Vajra Farm, a permaculture teaching farm located just outside of Lawrence, KS. It was designed and built by my late stepfather, Steve Moring, who taught permaculture design at KU and founded the Kansas Permaculture Institute.
Vajra is nestled in the prairie-land of Northeast Kansas. The 43 acres of restored native prairie honors the ecology of the deep rooted tap system the native species call home. It also includes an established fruit and nut tree forest and many medicinal herbs, which were used to make tinctures in the basement lab. This property boasts a fantastic octagonal home, solar panels and passive solar, multiple established garden beds, a seasonal stream, Osage Orange for heating in the wood stove, and an amazing train car to be remodeled into whatever your heart desires.
