I spent six summers commercial beach seining for salmon in Kodiak, AK while camping out for the entire length of each season. During those working summers, I learned a little bit about land stewardship, self-sufficiency, some basic survival/bushcraft skills and so much more about myself (and what sparks my joy). I've also been employed as a legal secretary, executive administrative assistant, graphic designer/marketing coordinator, gardener, groundskeeper, plant nursery worker and Iron Worker (to name just a few work adventures I've had). I enjoy both "blue-collar" and "white-collar" work.
Currently, I have gig work in Graphic Design, Illustration, Videography, Interior Design/Staging and building websites in Wix and Squarespace.
My husband and I also foster dogs and serve on the board of our local non-profit dog rescue.
At age 53, I'm excited to start a new adventure in learning about permaculture and I feel very grateful for this free online course! We would like to sell our home in order to purchase land and build a tiny home in the next few years, so I'm learning what I can now to prepare for that next step.
