It's been a very productive year; 2025 was Y2 of my Tiny Paradise project. Learned a ton from all my mistakes, made progress on a lot of the SMARTER goals and I feel I need to share an update that is long overdue.
✅ Completed my project and I received the Environmental Steward Certification from Rutgers University just a week ago! 😃
✅ Joined our town's Green Team and we are currently drafting a local ordinance for Native Plantings 💚
✅ Community Solar 😎 worked better than expected and now it is being implemented town-wide and I am helping wherever I can.
✅ I began my veggie garden 🌱 and I am learning so much from my trial and errors that I connected with an online gardening community..
✅ I began removing grass and planting Strawberry 🍓 Fields Forever (remember Food not Lawns by Heather Jo Flores?)
✅ My garden beds were beautiful 🌻 over the summer and I am now finding out WHY the maintenance plan in the PDC is so IMPORTANT, I refer to it constantly.
✅ I am adding a greenhouse to continue the growing season
✅ The birds, the plants, and all species in the ecosystem have been very supportive
